Homelessness and Newborn Cyclists
Tonight I'm really emptying out the condo. The kitchen is boxed up, my bed disassembled, and my computer is even unhooked. There was something about packing up the kitchen that really made it hit home that, well, I'm almost without a home. It was even more emotional than disassembling my extremely comfortable bed. I guess that just goes to show how much I enjoy food - even if I'm not much of a cook. This has been a very strange time.
All this focus on the move, and I haven't mentioned some big news. My friends Justin and Nichole, over in Wausau, Wisconsin, recently had a baby boy. I imagine that Justin has already been thinking of what kind of tricycle to get his newborn son.
Congrats Justin and Nichole, and welcome Isaiah.
Four cubicle days left and TGIF.
Eighteen Cubicle-Enclosed Days

Things are moving quickly now. I have to admit that I am getting nervous and excited. I only have eighteen more days of work in my cubicle at Basin Electric. Just after Independence Day, I will be free for a full month and a half before I'm off to the Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.
Consequently, I've been pondering what it will be like at the seminary. I am looking forward to the more structured and regular regimen of Mass and prayer. I'm excited at the prospect of working with such intelligent, holy men. Overall, I see a lot of opportunity in my future for growth in holiness.
On the other hand, I am unsure of how I will like working in a parish. Thankfully, the program at Kenrick will have me doing just that, right from the start. And the academic work will undoubtedly be difficult. The work I have done in theology and philosophy thus far was fascinating, although time consuming and challenging. As before, I'll just have to put it in God's hands. As long as I give him the time, I believe he will answer my prayers.
My immediate problem has more to do with leisure. Like I said, I will be free for a month and a half. A week or so of that time, I will be in Guatemala assisting the God's Child Project. The rest of the time, I have no clue what I'll be up to. Maybe a long bike ride. I just can't decide, and time for making that decision is running short. If you've got a bright idea, let me know!
