4th of July
Unlike many of my classmates, I stayed in the Omaha area for the 3-day weekend. The summer program I am participating in had a picnic at the nearby Platte River State Park. The weather was beautiful as a large group of us enjoyed a barbecue at a shelter in the park. After that, I climbed this 80-foot-tall lookout tower:

I finished the day at the park while hiking the trails with Troy, a seminarian from Grand Forks. After that Matthew (a seminarian from Mandan) and I went to a park in downtown Omaha in hopes of seeing the fireworks from Rosenblatt Stadium. The fireworks were too far away for us to get a good view. But it was enjoyable anyway. We did some people watching and checked out the crazy fountains. I got a couple of interesting snapshots of the fountains and the Omaha skyline:
