Bowbells to Crosby with a trip into Canada & Estevan, Sask. Distance: 87.4 mi. Average Speed: 12.1 mph Odometer: 829 mi. Maximum Speed: 28.3 mph Time in Motion: 7:11:50 Wind: Light NW << yesterday | tomorrow >> |
We got up at 4:30 a.m. this morning, we all slept well. After some standing around, we got the tent down and found the city hall for breakfast. The winds were fairly easy to go against, and helped us for a good portion of the ride. Philip rode with us today, and slowed us down... he got some cramps. He made it in the end. Estevan, Sask., was very industrial and dirty. The land for miles around the city was destroyed by coal mining. Ronnie was being very musical today. He did a lot of singing. Jesse got another flat tire. We camped in the Pioneer Village in Crosby. The campground in Bowbells was much better... and there was free swimming. Nothing free here, except water which isn't really that cold. I tried to call home, and after waiting 15 min. to use the ONE payphone in town, dad wasn't even home. The clicking noise my bike was making stopped toward the end of today's ride, but was prevalent throughout the rest of the day. Tomorrow is only 58 miles. Winds don't look good. We'll eat breakfast and head out early.
