Incomprehensible Motives.

Yesterday's attacks on the US make little sense to me. What, exactly, do the perpetrators of these acts gain? Do terrorist attacks like those in New York and the Pentagon disrupt our government for more than a few hours? No. Do these acts help the perpetrator strategically? Most certainly not. Will it help them gain favor in the international community? Of course not. I cannot imagine a single thing that these people gain by this.

Surely, there was a great cost in terms of lives. But the taking of these lives seemed to have no purpose.

I feel a great sadness for the tens of thousands that may have been killed during the collapse of the twin towers and at the Pentagon. Today I fly a flag on my website in memory of these victims and as a symbol of the strength of the United States of America.

Our country will recover. The terrorists have accomplished nothing.
