Frosty

December 20, 1998

Christmas break is going well, despite the struggle to decide where to spend how much time.  If you live in a family that has been separated or shuffled around, you probably know what I'm talking about.  My dad's side of the family wants me to spend time with them, but my mom wants me to stay here in Bottineau (which is where I am right now).  I think I'm staying here for Christmas Eve, at least.

The weather in North Dakota has turned cold.  The high today is zero, and it feels like the North Dakota I knew in high school.  Since I have been in college, we've been lucky with warm temperatures.  Maybe that's over, or maybe we're just having a cold spell.  I wouldn't mind a cold winter too much.  The only time I would complain would be when I have to walk across campus to Witmer hall in 30 below weather.

Speaking of Witmer hall (the math building), last Tuesday I took my math final.  I studied, studied, and studied some more.  My grade hinges on that test grade.  If I get a b on the exam, I have a b in the class.  Otherwise, I get a C.  I haven't had a C in a class since elementary school.  I guess I wouldn't feel too bad about getting a C, but a B is better, of course.  I think I put too much importance on grades sometimes.  In any case, I'm very glad to be done with Calculus II.  The depressing part is, on January 5th, I start Calculus III.  I'm so tired of math.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to get my grades.  If I can't, I'll find out when I can.  It would be nice to know how I did.

Well, I guess I don't have too much to say that I haven't, so that's it for now.
