Drunkfest & Summer co-opMay 2, 1999It has been a while, but I've been a busy boy. Very busy. In just 7.5 hours, I take my first of four huge tests in this, the first week of May..... FINALS WEEK. Classes are over, but the crunch to finish up is definitely being felt. I can't say this semester has been fun. Almost none of my classes were interesting, almost none of my classes were extremely easy, and my grades are going to be terrible. I'm probably going to have at least one C and a B. My summer plans are still not concrete, but there is one possibility. Great Plains software, in Fargo, has called me up and asked me to come in for an interview. They are looking for summer co-op students. I'm a little excited about the prospect of on-the-job experience, but that job puts me a long way from home and my girlfriend. I suppose, at this point in my life, I should work on finishing school more than anything else. Yesterday was Springfest here at UND. Personally, I think they should rename it drunkfest, because that's exactly what it is. I cannot believe that UND condones and even funds such an event. Some local bands get together and play music in the park while the multitudes consume massive quantities of alcohol. It seemed as if there were about three sober people on my floor in the dorm after Springfest. Watching my peers drink themselves to the point of passing out or vomiting is depressing to say the least. There's not much I can do about it I suppose. Whether I get the co-op position or not, I'm won't be up late every night
doing homework after this week! I can't wait to be out of here for a while. ~ |
